Students at Wainuiomata High School have access to Maria and Richard who are both full members of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors, and Jaydeen our Social Worker. In addition, there are often counselling students on placement with us who are also available to speak with students.
Appointments can be made via email, or popping down to see us, you can put an appointment slip in the box in the Careers/Guidance area. We are also more than happy to speak with parents/caregivers at any time about connecting with a student.
Confidentiality is a key component of counselling, and conversations we have with students are treated in the highest confidence. There can of course be times when for example, we have concerns for students, in these cases it's essential we act in the best interest of the students.
Vibe provide a free and confidential medical service here at WHS. Appointments can be made at Student Services, or by scanning the code below. The doctor is in school on a Monday, and the nurse is available 4 days per week.
