Students at Wainuiomata High School have access to Maria and Richard who are both full members of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors. In addition, there are often Counselling students on placement with us who are also available to speak with students.

Appointments can be made via email, Teams message, asking a teacher to contact, just popping down and seeing us, or putting an appointment slip in the box in the Careers/Guidance area. We are also more than happy to speak with parents/caregivers at any time about connecting with a student.

Confidentiality is a key component of counselling. Any conversations that Maria or Richard have with students are confidential – there are times when it is essential that confidentiality does not apply, and this is when we have concerns for a student’s safety.

Medical Service

Vibe provide a free and confidential medical service here at WHS. Appointments can be made at Student Services, or by scanning the code below. The doctor is in school on a Monday, and the nurse is available 4 days per week.
